Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. It is due to
the abnormal growth of the cells in the body and can affect almost every
part of the body. Common types of cancer include lung cancer, breast
cancer, liver cancer or liver cirrhosis and many more. As much as
possible, any person would want to avoid this life-taking disease
because not only can it be physically and emotionally painful to accept
by the victim, as well as their family and friends, but it can also be
financially draining as cancer treatment can be very expensive. It would
take more than some survival gear to be able to survive such a huge and complicated challenge like cancer in life.
There are a lot of risk factors for cancer. Here are some of the common ones:
a.
Exposure to chemicals - Your body's exposure to chemicals is one of the
biggest and most common risk factors as to how you can get cancer. For
instance, if you smoke and drink a lot, don't expect to be as healthy as
a horse. Cigarettes and alcoholic beverages contain so many chemicals
that can cause lung and liver cancer, as well as other diseases.
b.
Environmental - If you live in the city and there is a lot of pollution
from vehicles, then you would be at risk for cancer. Like cigarettes
and alcohol, fumes from cars and other vehicles contain toxic chemicals
such as carbon monoxide, formaldehyde and benzene. Too much sun exposure
can also cause cancer, skin cancer to be exact. Use some survival equipment when going out during the day time; you are risking yourself to cancer.
c.
Genetics - Yes, cancer can be passed on from one generation to another.
If any of your family has a history of cancer, immediately have
yourself checked if you carry the cancer gene. Early detection is the
key here.
d. Diet - If you keep on stuffing yourself with
chemically-treated food like canned goods and instant noodles, then you
are at risk for cancer. Most processed foods and ready to eat foods are
loaded with preservatives and other chemicals.
These four are just
some of the common risk factors of cancer. Now that you know them, try
to use some survival tactics and learn how to avoid cancer. Be more
cautious of your health and avoid cancer as much as you can.
